The Kanas City Chiefs team was looking good for Sunday Week 5 game against the Indianapolis Colts but still lost to them at 19-13. While it was the first loss for the Chiefs in 2019 NFL season, it raises some serious questions over the team and the opening quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

What makes it worse is that the Colts are without their main QB Andrew Luck and Jacoby Brissett has been playing as the replacement. Even the game was played in Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City and still, the Chiefs lost at their home ground due to the following reasons.
Chiefs are the Worst Rushing Defense
The Chiefs have the strongest offensive line and Patrick Mahomes is no doubt the best quarterback of 2019 NFL season but the team lacks in other departments for sure. Kansas City has the worst rushing defense in 2019 season so far where they allow 5.9 yards per carry and 149.8 yards per game.
Final: Colts 19, Chiefs 13.
A game no one picked them to win, two defensive stars hurt, some horrendously bad calls, against the best QB in the world – that, right there, is the most impressive win of the Frank Reich era.

But the Colts themselves are no good at rushing yard and were near to only 100 yards per game in the past two NFL matches. In Week 5, Marlon Mack who has been suffering from ankle injury finished at 132 yards and the Indianapolis totaled at 180 yards which raises some serious questions on the defense side in Chiefs.
Patrick Mahomes was not Protected by the Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes did his best in the Chiefs vs Colts game and even put up 321 yards with a touchdown. But the rest of the offense of the Chiefs was pretty much useless and failed badly in protecting Mahomes.

The offensive line of the Chiefs should protect the reigning MVP at all cost but somehow Mahomes was sacked 4 times by the Indianapolis defensive line in the Sunday game. What made it worse was Mahomes getting an ankle injury in the second half of the game. It was so bad that backup Cameron Erving stepped on Mahomes’ ankle during the game.
