Cure for HIV-AIDS is under research and new treatment methods are being discovered every day. While most of the HIV cures are aimed at keeping the virus at bay, there is a new form of approach which removes the virus entirely from the human body. The previous forms of HIV treatment are usually keeping the virus under control, instead of killing it completely.
Hamburg biotech startup Provirex are developing a new therapeutic process using gene scissors that will cut out the AIDS pathogen HIV blueprint from the infected genome cells and eliminate the virus completely. Max Planck technology is the main basis of the HIV gene scissors concept that has been developed and optimized by designer recombinase Brec1.
Cutting out HIV instead of Controlling the Virus
Katharina Fegebank, Senator for Science at Hamburg startup Provirex wants to make a valuable contribution in fighting against HIV and AIDS. It would be a historical breakthrough to free infected patients from HIV completely and accurately. HIV and AIDS could be cured by this form of treatment and it will be the biggest milestone in the medical community.
The aim is to cut out HIV infection and remove it from the body without harming the cells. There are several other methods that have been able to limit and isolate the virus so far and cutting it out with gene scissors can cure HIV and AIDS for permanent.
HIV Cure approach will be Entirely Changed in the Future
The new approach to cure the deadly disease will prove to be very beneficial in the fight against HIV and AIDS. The research team at Hamburg is currently working at the UKE campus to develop new treatment methods and find their own results. It is working with other partners and hospitals to start clinical trials for HIV treatments by using the gene scissors and cell method. It would be beneficial to millions of HIV infected patients all over the world.
