Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us Part 2, Final Fantasy 7: Remake and a lot of other popular game titles have been delayed from their original release dates in 2020. Fans of all these gaming series have to wait for several more months before they can play as their favorite characters in the remastered versions or sequels of their favorite titles. Here is the list of all the major games which have been delayed along with new release dates and possible reasons why the developers have decided to postpone their launch.
List of Games Delayed in 2020 Release Date
Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed for five months and will now release on September 19, 2020, instead of the original release date. CD Projekt Red, the studio who has developed the futuristic game announced on their Twitter handle about the delay and said that they are postponing the game to make it better. Keanu Reeves will also be a part of Cyberpunk 2077 as the character Johnny Silverhead but now the game has delayed on all platforms including PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.

Final Fantasy VI: Remake release date has been shifted from March 3 to April 10 in 2020. Square Enix has already released a demo for the remastered version of the classic Final Fantasy game and it was received very well and the delay is due to simple changes enhancing the gameplay. Naughty Dog has also delayed the Sony PS4 exclusive ‘The Last of Us Part 2’ from February to May 29 release date. The studio said that they need more time to polish the game and make it par with the other Naughty Dog titles quality.

Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs Legion, Rainbox Six Quarantine, and Gods and Monsters which were originally supposed to release in March-April 2020 have now been delayed with unspecified release date timeline.
Why are Top Games of 2020 getting Delayed?
Sony PlayStation 5, Microsoft Xbox Series X and other top gaming consoles will be released at the end of this year, which is the main reason for delaying the release dates for all the games. When the games were in development, the specs of next-gen consoles were not known and now the game developers are making necessary changes so that, the titles run perfectly on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
