Fan who pitched at 96 mph now signed by Oakland A's

Oakland A’s have officially signed Nathan Patterson on a rookie contract in the minor league. This is one barely believable story of a rookie who tried the speed pitch challenge and is now a professional athlete two weeks down the lane.

All that when he was just out to watch a rookies game in Coor Field, Colorado. It was exactly 17 days from now when he had signed his rookie contract that his brother uploaded a video of him nailing the speed pitch challenge at 96mph like a boss.

Nathan Patterson worked long for it (surprise!)

Taking a closer look at his tweets, Nathan Patterson was building up for it from quite some time. He started dreaming of making to the league as a pitcher some nine months ago, and it’s now only that he has realized it.

Oakland A’s have grabbed a rookie worthy of his contract. And the Oakland A’s franchisee does have the history of picking out talents from nothing. But it’s more about Nathan Patterson here.

This guy has uploaded multiple footages of his training at Oakland A Sports Performance in Nashville, Tennessee. He also topped at 95 mph in June earlier this year. There’s Oakland A’s might be following him since then.

But all in all, in such a short period, Patterson has come a long way. His brother expressed his happiness and has a hand behind Nathan’s success.

Oakland A’s knack of unearthing talents

The Athletics aka Oakland A’s have made a name for themselves in picking out of the league since Moneyball. Although Nathan Patterson here is a rookie, and this one can term more like a rookie pick.

Oakland A’s will try him out going into the regular season with an express pitcher. Only time will tell how Patterson’s journey continues from here on, but it’s time to cherish for him right now.

“How can you not be romantic about baseball” -Billy Beane Words cannot describe this feeling and I cannot thank everyone enough who has been part of this journey so far! My family has given me nothing but constant love and support throughout the last 9 months as I pursue a dream of mine that I’ve had since I was a little kid. It’s been a roller coaster to get here with many challenges and overcoming adversity. I’m grateful for all the trainers, coaches, friends, @rsrbaseball and everyone else who has supported me thus far! And for those who tell you that you can’t achieve your dreams, use that as fuel to work even harder. Because those people are the ones that settle. I’m grateful for the @athletics organization for giving me this opportunity! This story is not over. It is not the beginning. I am writing the next chapters and excited for this journey! Time to focus even more, work even harder, and it all starts with your mindset. Go after your dreams and make them a reality!
