Food Recall 2019 has new additions to it. A suburban supermarket chain Aldi is recalling 5 pounds bags of it’s Baker’s Corner All-Purpose Flour. There are high chances that the flous contains E.coli.
Food Recall 2019: What the havoc is all about
The Aldi supermarket franchise sell their Baker’s Corner All-Purpose Flour in eleven states of USA. Eight of these states have seen people falling terribly sick in the days gone. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, CDC has confirmed that all over, 17 people have fallen really ill in the past months.
Moreover, three of them have been hospitalized. The victims’ ages lie in-between seven to eighty years. The reports started fretting the officials since December 11, 2018 and are still prevailing. The latest being on April 18.
CDC reported that a few among them ate, tasted or licked raw dough, which is really not something to be very casual about. The CDC executives, in order to prevent another such mis-happenings reminded common people, the dangers of eating raw dough.
The bacteria that caused sickness:E.coli
CDS has requested the people (esepcially living in those eleven states) not to purchase the Baker’s Corner All-Purpose Flour from any of the Aldi’s superstores.
Aldi has it’s superstores in; Delaware, New Jersey, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Rhode Island and West Virginia. The bags follow the UPC code, 041498130404.
Till now, no deaths or cases of serious syndromes are reported due to flour- eating.
The flour may contain a specific strain of E.coli (Escherichia coli) bacteria. The strains are quite harmless, except a few. They are even found in the intestines of humans. The others, however can cause illness through Shiga toxin. The germ may cause sickeness in people after two to eight days of ingestion.
Some of the symptoms of E.coli bacterial infections includes cramps in stomach, diarrhea and vomiting as well.
Although, the infections are mild, but some of them can cost you, your whole life.
