God of War: Ragnarok is one of the most anticipated games of 2021 but the question that remains is whether the game will come out this year or not. Sony announced the God of War sequel last year at the PS5 expo saying that Ragnarok is coming out in 2021 but there are hardly any updates after that.
While it might have possible that Santa Monica Game Studios had earlier plans to push the release date for God of War: Ragnarok in 2021, that could have changed due to multiple reasons. Here are more updates on the God of War: Ragnarok release date, plot spoilers and theories.
God of War: Ragnarok Release Date in 2021 Possible?
God of War: Ragnarok release date is primarily set as 2021 but that could have been a placeholder and games of such high scale are always delayed. Further, the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed multiple games and Ragnarok could easily face the same problem.
I don't know who needs to hear this…
(certainly not me since I have never heard of it)

Cory Balrog, the game director has also made it clear that God of War: Ragnarok will arrive when it is done and it is a clear indication that the game will take some more time. There are very few chances that the God of War: Ragnarok release date could be actually set in 2021 and fans should not hope for a surprise as nothing of that sort will happen.
God of War: Ragnarok Plot Theories and Spoilers
God of War: Ragnarok plot will surely follow the storyline from Norse Mythology where Ragnarok means the end of the world. Further, Thor coming down in the post-credits scene to challenge Kratos is an indication that the God of Thunder might be the main boss for the final fight. It was also revealed that Faye’s son Atreus is a half-giant named Loki and that will also play a major role in the God of War: Ragnarok storyline.
