GTA 6 is one of the most anticipated games out there even though there is hardly anything known about the game settings. While most of the reports say that the next Grand Theft Auto will be set in the 80s and have a vibe similar to GTA: Vice City game, there are new leaks that contradict everything. As per one of the latest GTA 6 leaks, the game might be set in the modern-day instead of the 1980 time period.
GTA 6 Leaks says Game will be set in Modern Day
GTA 6 leak reports are coming from Tom Henderson who is a credible source and has delivered true information on Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty previously. When someone asked Henderson on Twitter will the GTA 6 gameplay be set in the 1980s or not, he made it clear that the game will be set in modern times.
It's not set in the 1980's and is modern. https://t.co/iav46Ty35V

It actually makes a lot of sense for GTA 6 to be set in modern times as the technology has evolved a lot since the previous GTA game got out. Further, with the massive success of GTA: Online, there is no way Rockstar Games would make GTA 6 totally disconnected from that. It might be an intelligent move for Rockstar to set GTA 6 in modern times with all the gadgets and new vehicles so that the current generation of gamers feels like they are actually out there and can relate more to the game.
GTA 6 Release Date Updates
GTA 6 release date is still far away and the game will come out in 2023-24 at the earliest. Most of the reports say that GTA 6 is in the early development stage and games of such a massive scale take years to complete. Fans could only hope that Rockstar Games announces the Grand Theft Auto VI game soon and not just new updates to the older GTA games.
