Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have set a great example at being good parents to their kids despite their separate lives. They have been amicable with each other. That, in turn, puts good influence on the kids.
Gwyneth Paltrow maintains friendship with Ex
The ex-spouses have no bad blood between them. Although their marriage ended in divorce, their friendship continues. Both are committed to maintaining friendly relations, as that’s the best for the kids. In 2019, Paltrow told Evening Standard–
“Family structure can be reinvented and divorce doesn’t have to be devastating, it doesn’t have to be the end of your relationship with somebody. I think Chris and I were meant to be together and have our kids. But our relationship is much better like this: friends and co-parents and family.”
The exes even support each other’s relationships. As a matter of fact, it was Paltrow who persuaded Martin to reconcile with Dakota Johnson after their split in June 2019.
Most breakups are pretty ugly, and the exes end up avoiding each other. But that’s not the case with this ex-couple. In fact, Paltrow invited her ex-husband and his girlfriend on her honeymoon. Paltrow, with her husband Brad Falchuk, spent time in Maldives in December 2018. The foursome also vacationed together in the Hamptons in August 2019.
The Fading Marriage
Gwyneth penned an essay for the British Vogue’s September 2020 issue. In the essay she revisited her marriage with Martin. The Goop founder couldn’t remember when exactly the breaking point came to be. But she did realize that their romance was fading, in general.
“But I knew — despite long walks and longer lie-ins, big glasses of Barolo and hands held — my marriage was over.”
Paltrow didn’t want a divorce. She hasn’t grown up around a lot of divorces. So when it happened to her, it felt “bitter, acrimonious, unending”, despite the popular usage of the term “conscious uncoupling”, during their separation.
“With all my heart, I did not want that”

In a previous interview, Paltrow admitted that they worked hard to make things work. Some of it they worked together, sometimes they worked separately. Eventually, they came to the conclusion that while they love each other very much, they are better off separated.
