Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter called it a tough day for them and decided to block tweets from verified accounts for a few hours until the matter was solved.

The hackers specifically targeted the biggest and most influential names on Twitter as they knew it would bring them maximum money in the shortest time possible. There is hardly any chance that regular Twitter accounts were hacked as we have not seen any such instances.

Most of the hacked Twitter handles belonged to high-profile verified accounts having the same message telling people to send $1,000 bitcoins in 30 minutes so that it will be doubled down and sent to charity. It has been revealed that the hackers also hacked most of the Bitcoins and Blockchain handles so that people are convinced that it is a genuine message and not some scam. All major crypto Twitter accounts have been compromised, it was warned by the prominent users. It is believed that the hack was made by some Twitter employees who had access to the accounts API and tweeted from their behalf to earn money in the form of Bitcoins.
