Jujutsu Kaiser Chapter 145 Title: “The Rear Side”

Tengen is looking the way he is because he never found a vessel after Riko Amanai died, so he ended up evolving and now his will is one with the Universe (Whatever that means.)

He then starts explaining that the reason why Brain didn’t just turn everyone in Japan into a sorcerer instead of doing it only to marked people is simply because he lacked the necessary amount of cursed energy for that. Also before he starts explaining things, Tengen declares that he’s gonna need two people between Choso, Yuji and Yuta to remain there and be his bodyguards.

So Brain’s current plan is to have humanity merge with Tengen. Once Tengen is evolved, it became “Not Impossible” for him to merge with people other than the star vessel, and now since his soul exists “Everywhere”, he can also merge with multiple people at once. People who merge with him would go beyond Sorcerers, and be something that exists but at the same don’t.

But according to Tengen, he’s only able to keep sane because of his barrier technique, but if someone evil were to merge with him, that evil would be transmitted instantly, as they’d lack individuality. It’d be the end of the world.

Itadori asks if Tengen can’t just deny merging, and Tengen says that currently, he’s actually closer to a cursed Spirit than a Human. In other words, he’s a valid target to curse manipulation. This is why the Star Cradle’s barrier is currently rejecting every individual that comes close, and also why he’s asking for bodyguards.

Brain is apparently the best barrier user after Tengen, so there’s no telling when he’ll be able to get through.

In the past, Brain was stopped by a sorcerer with six eyes twice. The second time he managed to kill the six-eyes user beforehand, but another one eventually appeared and defeated him. Which is why he decided to seal Gojo, as two six eyes users can’t exist at once.

Merging with Tengen has a low success rate currently, which is why the Culling Game is at place, so that people with more cursed energy can be created and used as the first few that get merged. Plus, Brain is not the Game Master, so killing them has no effect in the game.

They move on to talking about how to unseal Gojo, but Tengen demands that they decide who’s staying first. It’s Choso and Yuji, both of them want to get a chance to fight Brain, plus Yuta wants to stay with his friends.

Then Tengen opens a small portal and pulls out a cube, the “Back” of the Prison realm. It’s basically a backdoor. Tengen hoped that having the back sealed would make Prison realm harder to find, but that didn’t work.

Gojo is sealed in the backdoor as well, so opening it will release him. However, only the person who owns the front door is allowed to open the backdoor, so the only ways to open it are to use the “Inverted spear of heaven”, which can force any technique undone (but Gojo broke it in his fight against Toji) or the “Black rope” which can disturb the effects of techniques (but Gojo broke it in his fight against Miguel).

Yuta went to Africa with Miguel to get another one, but it was a wasted trip. The last remaining method to open the cube is a technique that can destroy other techniques, belonging to a Sorcerer who is known as the “Angel” and has existed for over a thousand years: Kurus Hana. She’s a player in the Culling game.
