Julia Roberts didn’t like the original ending of ‘Pretty Woman’

Julia Roberts didn’t like the original ending of Pretty Woman and she low-key hoped for a better one! Pretty Woman is one of the best films that has ever made or existed. It is so damn romantic and cute! I remember watching it one of my girls and then drooling over the chemistry.

I must admit that I fell in love with Julia Roberts and her smoking hot body! Roberts has always been versatile enough to mold her expressions according to the role!

The innocent looking actress pulled off a prostitutes role like a boss. She made up a self-respectful, bold and caring prostitute and in the end obviously a good girlfriend.

The summary of the movie

Julia Roberts (Vivian) is a prostitute and like every other night, she is waiting for her to be picked-up. Luckily, Richard Gere (Edward) picks her up and takes her with him for the weekend. He takes her to a posh hotel, they try not to fall for each other there.

Edward then takes her to meetings as his girlfriend and pays for her shopping bills too. There is a scene where both of them fight, and Vivian out of utter self-respect leaves everything behind! Edward follows her to her house and proposes her to be his genuine girlfriend this time!

The original ending

The overall story is the same, but the end is different here. Apparently, Edward leaves Vivian on a dark street throwing all the money on her. Julia Roberts thought that the end was quite dark, but not until Disney took over. ‘3000’ was the original film company which worked on ‘Pretty Woman’ but it shut, turning Roberts jobless.

Gary Marshall (new director) meets with Julia Roberts and tells her about the re-written end of the script. After reading it, she literally thanked god for the changed end as the previous one was too dark! So do we now!
