Shortly after few days of the NBA season of 2018-19, the LA Lakers have fired the head coach Luke Walton. The LA Lakers had initially taken interview of four coaches, that was led by the general manager Rob Pelinka. But, the former head coach of Cleveland Cavaliers, Tyronn Lue and Monty Williams the assistant coach of Philadelphia came up as the front-runners.
However, Monty Williams became the head coach of the Phoenix Suns. On the other hand, Tyronn Lue had some problems with the contract length so he ended the negotiations.
After this, the LA Lakers resumed their search for the coach. And finally Frank Vogel the head coach of Indiana Pacers is selected. Frank Vogel will become the new head coach of LA Lakers.
Frank Vogel has good experience in the NBA season over the past years. In the 7.5 seasons that he coached, he has a 304-201 record. He also let the Pacers reach to the Eastern Conference Finals back-to-back. Frank Vogel is known for his brilliant defending skills. Frank was considered for Lue’s potential coaching staff as a lead assistant coach to him.
With Vogel agreeing to join the Laker’s former head coach of Milwaukee Bucks, Jason Kidd is expected to join Frank’s coaching staff.
