God has been mentioned many times in the Lucifer TV series but an actor was never cast till now. Neil Gaiman, the creator of Lucifer show himself voiced the character of God in the last episode of Lucifer season 3. But this time, the almighty would have a huge impact on the story and hence a prominent actor has been cast.

It is another reason why Haysbert accepted the role and he is known to portray characters with immense powers.
