Microsoft Surface Pro 8 Specs, Features and Rumors
Microsoft Surface Pro 8 is expected to be powered by Intel’s 11-generation chip called “Tiger Lake” which was ready when the laptop went into production. It will also upgrade to Thunderbolt 3 port from USB-C and have improved battery life. There are also rumors that Microsoft is integrating a solar panel into the type cover of Surface 8 Pro laptops.
It came to notice when a patent design was leaked online, but having solar-powered charging in a laptop seems a bit odd, as most of the users work indoors. The Surface Pro 8 will have speakers mounted in the kickstand so that the area between the table and the stand can create a resonance chamber. It will give an enclosure to the speakers and hence the audio will become a bit louder in the Surface Pro 8 laptops.
Microsoft Surface Pro 8 Release Date and Price
Microsoft Surface Pro 8 release date is expected to happen in late 2020 as the company launches new models at the same time every year. The latest Pro 7 and Pro X were launched in October and November respectively last year. Based on the previous models, the Surface Pro 8 could cost $799 to $999 for the base models and can go as high as $2,299 for high-end variants.
Also, the type cover costs around $129 to $159, but if the rumors of solar panel charging with integrated speakers are true, Surface Pro 8 type cover could cost higher around $199 for sure.
