While Zion is the most likely choice, no official confirmations have been made. This leaves room for speculation regarding the NBA 2K21 cover athlete.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Currently, the best that NBA can offer is Giannis. He is also an ideal choice because his marketability has seen substantial growth on account of his constantly rising popularity.

Giannis is also eligible for signing a super-max contract in the summer, which is he does then it will make the Greek Freak an ideal choice on the NBA 2K21 cover.

Kevin Durant

Although Kevin and the Warriors have failed in their “three-peat” quest last year, the Brooklyn Net’s man could very well make his third appearance on the NBA 2K21 cover after having featured on covers of NBA 2K15 and 2K17.

The 31-year-old switched from California to New York City after he swapped Warriors against Nets. While he will not be a new signing technically, Kevin will be raring to go next season because it is quite safe to assume that he won’t play for the Nets given his ongoing injury.

Kawhi Leonard

In 2019, the NBA Finals MVP decided to switch Canada in favor of America in the offseason and joined the Los Angeles Clippers, who are still looking for their first NBA crown.

The season so far has failed to live up to the hype that surrounded it. However, fans are aware of what Kawhi is capable of upon arrival of playoffs. With Paul George and co on his side, he could very well be set for a consecutive second ring.
