Los Angeles Lakers have been doing pretty well in the NBA 2019 preseason games and they totally dominated the Golden State Warriors. Even though the Warriors were missing out Stephen Curry, the duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis was playing with perfect coordination. Even Danny Green and Dwight Howard did a great job in the few minutes they played and if they can keep the pace, the Lakers could be the top contenders for NBA 2019-20 season title.
But it doesn’t mean that the Lakers are perfect as they lost to the Brooklyn Nets and needs another veteran star. DeMarcus Cousins has been put on the injured reserve list and the LA Lakers could sign deals with Andre Iguodala or Carmelo Anthony very soon.
Andre Iguodala has been put on the trade block by the Memphis Grizzlies as they refused to buy him out. In case none of the NBA teams sign the veteran defender, the Grizzlies will buy him out and trade him after the next season. However, it won’t happen as Iguodala is an effective player and any of the NBA teams would sign him without thinking twice.
“I think they would be in the driver seat. He has a long standing relationship with Rob Pelinka …”
– ESPN’s Dave McMenamin on Andre Iguodala and the Lakers.
McMenamin added that Quinn Cook “could certainly help in getting Iguodala to the Lakers as well.”

NBA experts have claimed that if the Memphis can’t trade Andre, the two LA teams would make an offer for him. The Los Angeles Lakers signing Andre Iguodala makes a lot of sense as they need a capable defender and also it would take the load off from LeBron James.
Carmelo Anthony may have been the walking dinosaur of NBA and none of the teams is ready to sign him but as the regular season starts, they will change their minds. As per the recent revelations, Anthony was supposed to join the Lakers last season when the Houston Rockets moved him out.

Everyone knows about the friendship Melo with LeBron James and how the Lakers star is trying to make a deal happen. Anthony has said that he is ready to accept the bench role and play for limited minutes and the Lakers surely need some vet for the job. The Lakers would surely give a thought to sign Carmelo Anthony as their ultimate goal is to win an NBA championship.
