Netflix account passwords are often used on a shared basis – oftentimes, friends and family of the primary user tend to share the same account and the company has been trying hard to dissuade users from doing that. Now, however, the company is planning stricter steps.
Let us take a closer look at this and see what to expect from Netflix in the near future – is this the end of password sharing?

Netflix Account Password Sharing: Netflix Declares War!
Netflix has, during their third-quarter earning call, declared that they plan to have a major crackdown on password sharing. The company said that a lot of people are taking undue advantage of using one account by sharing passwords with multiple people and this is something they are going to work on.
However, as to how the company plans to ensure that Netflix account passwords remain restricted, they have not given out any major details. At this point in time we can only assume that they will be doing that by pinning the account with IP addresses.
@netflix raised their prices and now they’re trying to ban password sharing bc of their earnings? banning password sharing doesn’t mean I’ll decide to get an account? Is that what they’re hoping for?

Your Netflix Account Might Get Banned if You Violate This Rule
While Netflix is yet to specify the penalty that it will impose for multiple users using the same account, it can be something as mild as stopping the access to newly added screens while it might even be as harsh as permabanning an account upon multiple violations. Hence we strongly recommend you to make sure you have a multi-screen plan and do not exceed your screen limit to ensure your account remains safe.
