Baltimore have a left guard worry without Alex Lewis

Although, Ravens have decided to send Lewis into free agency and he played just 10 matches for them last season, they still have a problem at left guard. James Hurst took over from Alex Lewis after his shoulder injury 10 games into the season.

And Hurst wasn’t close to the aura of Alex Lewis. This year, Jermaine Eluemunor and rookie Ben Powers have a shared the responsibility at left guard. The news has a salary cap clearance factor to it with Ravens now having $2m bigger purse.

“Another door opens”, hopes Lewis

As three linemen would vye for Ravens’ left guard position, the veteran himself is a free agent. Baltimore Ravens picked him in the 2016 draft in the fourth round and he thanked Ravens for their constant backing.

Thank you to the Baltimore Ravens for drafting me back in 2016 and giving me an opportunity to play in the NFL. It has been a memorable three years. Appreciate all my teammates and coaches I have met along the way. Loved the atmosphere of Baltimore and the amazing fans that supported us! Unfortunately, I was released today. Thank you Baltimore! “As one door closes another opens. “
