Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles are set to launch in two months. But there is no set release date for any of them yet. Still, new reports are here with new details about the availability of these consoles to the gamers.
Will Sony’s PS5 come out before Microsoft’s Xbox Series X or vice versa. Let’s look into these reports.
What is the release date of next-gen consoles?
According to an analysis on 28 August, PS5 is set to release in November 2020. The report says,
In the UK, we understand that PlayStation has already booked significant marketing spend for the seven days commencing on Friday, November 13. Multiple retail sources have also told us that a launch during this window would fit within their expectations.
If this turns out to be true, then the PS5’s launch will be alongside that of games like Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. There is also a possibility that Microsoft’s Xbox Series X will also launch in November.
After the delay of Halo Infinite, Microsoft confirmed that the next-generation platform will release on Xbox Wire during November 2020. Even though there is no specific date out yet, it may release in the first week.
At the end of #BlackOpsColdWar's Digital Editions Breakdown video on PlayStation's channel, it says:

– PS5 Coming Late 2020: Rest of the World pic.twitter.com/P5V1kWEswO— PlayStation 5 – PS5 News (@PS5Updates) August 31, 2020
According to another source, Microsoft is trying its best to launch Xbox Series X before PS5. So in all probability, it will try to launch it by 13 November. Is the Microsoft’s strategy to get ahead of the PS5 worth it?
The First Next-Gen Console on Shelves
In 2013, the PlayStation 4 was the first current-gen console to release on 15 November. The Xbox One came out a week later on 22 November. It certainly gave PS4 an advantage.
Being the first next-generation out on the market definitely helps.
