Rick and Morty Season 4 has been loved by fans but there is one complaint, why does it only have 5 episodes? Adult Swim and the showrunner Justin Roiland are still no clear whether the fourth season will have more episodes or it will end with Episode 5 as the last episode.

It should be noted that Rick and Morty animated TV series was renewed for a total of 70 episodes and it means there is way more content remaining then we have already seen so far. Does that mean Rick and Morty Season 5 will have those extra episodes? In theory, Rick and Morty Season 5 will release more episodes than season 4.
Rick and Morty Season 5 Will Not Have Pressure to Release Early
The main reason why Rick and Morty Season 4 has such a short tenure is that fans were waiting for a long time ever since the third season aired in 2017. The makers had to come out with something or fans won’t stay loyal and lose faith in the team. But due to streaming rights and a lot of legal issues, there was a delay in starting the work for Rick and Morty season 4.
Also, it takes so much time for shooting the show due to the extremely detailed writing and pop-culture references and there were certain celebrity casts involved making the schedule very tight. But Rick and Morty Season 5 won’t have any such pressure as the gap after the current season will be enough for Adult Swim to work on the later episodes and release them after a few months.
Rick and Morty Season 5 Total Episodes
Rick and Morty season 5 won’t take much time to release once the fourth season is over as everything is now changed. Adult Swim after seeing the massive popularity of the show made a new deal with the creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland and ordered a total of 70 new episodes. The first goal was to release season 4 as soon as possible so that viewers are once again invested in the show.
Now that the foundation is laid, Rick and Morty season 5 could have any number of episodes depending on how many seasons they want to run the show. There could be 6 more seasons with 10 episodes or they could wrap things up in three seasons with 20 episodes per season.
