Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello are the most sought-after best-friends of Hollywood. People have always confused their forever friendship with a typical celebrity affair. But the duo jumped up to prove everyone wrong with their cute yet sultry friendship.
Their jaw-dropping single, Señorita has already spawned attention for their raunchy “so in love” kind scenes. However, the truth remains the same- they are just the best of friends for years.
A blooming friendship was the last thing, they expected from each other after their 2015 hit, “I Know What You Did Last Summer.”
Who knew that a single professional collaboration will bring them closer to each other. Since the day of shooting their first song, the pop-star and former Fifth Harmony singer has backed each other through every thick and thin.
It’s still a big question for all of us that amidst broken friendships and the flashy word of LA, how the two have stayed best pals after all.
How Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello became friends
Shawn and Camila had their first quirky meet in 2014 at Austin Mahone’s ‘Live On Tour’ concerts. Both Shawn and Camila were supporting acts for Mahone. At the time, Camila used to be the part of Fifth Harmony and threw a spectacular performance with other members. Whilst Shawn, almost portrayed as a lone guy through his songs, performed alone.
The destiny played its role and they met again for their first ever collaboration for, ” I Know What You Did Last Summer.”
Since then, their friendship is growing stronger with time. Moreover, their just 30 sec long cover for Ed Sheeran’s ‘Kiss Me’ has surpassed more than 3.5 million within a year.
Shawn and Camila: The pals with endless support for each other
The duo is not only doing well personally together, but their bond is reflected in their professional lives too. The cover for Kiss Me is enough to prove the fact. Furthermore, their cover got featured in countless TV shows around the US, including Live With Kelly And Michael, The Tonight Show and The Late Late Show.
When asked about their relationship, Shawn mocks Camila in the most adorable ways.
Every time I try to make a move towards her, she swears me off. It’s never ever gonna happen.
Camila counters the questions with accusing Shawn of not being together. She moves on to further say:
He friend-zones me, every other time. He calls me a kid. What do I do then?
I love the way they tease each other with their crushes and sometimes, their own names.
We wish they live as each other’s crime-partners for eternity.
