The BBC series Sherlock is returning to Netflix with its fifth season. Here’s what we known about Sherlock Season 5!
Sherlock Season 5 Release Date
No official release date has been announced just yet. However, it is reasonable to assume that the new season of Sherlock will be out only in 2022. The expected arrival was earlier, but the shooting disruptions caused by the COVID-19 will result in postponement of Sherlock Season 5 release. Digital Spy was recently informed by the co-showrunner Steven Moffat that the next season of Sherlock remains to be planned.

Sherlock Season 5 Plot [Spoiler Alert!!!]
Season 5 will be a continuation of the previous season. In the last episode, Eurus Holmes was seen safely returning to the protected area of the unit.
The last episode, named “The Final Problem”, showed Eurus’ expert manipulation capabilities. She compulsively taunts her detective brother. Sherlock discovered that his best friend ‘Redbeard’ had been murdered by Eurus.
In season 5, we reckon Sherlock and Watson will preserve their comradery and work together.

Sherlock Season 5 cast
Cumberbatch fans, please rejoice! Benedict Cumberbatch has confirmed his return in Season 5 as Sherlock. Watson will be played by Martin Freeman like usual. It is exciting to see them share a screen, there aren’t many other duos who are able to keep the viewers hooked for so long. A lot of actors, including Robert Downey Jr, have played Sherlock in the past. None of those actors have set the bar quite as high as Benedict Cumberbatch.
Cumberbatch fan community is going gaga already to see the actor return for Season 5. The Cumberbatch community is spread all over the globe and Season 5 is coming to make it larger by a broad margin. The previous seasons have been hugely successful, let’s hope the next season sets only higher standards.
