X-Men’s recently released movie Dark Phoenix was expected a higher opening than it received. Starring Sophie Turner, it is the 12th movie from the franchise of ‘X-Men’. The first movie of the X-Men series was released 19 years ago.
The movie has collected $34 million by its opening. As a result, the movie turned out to the worst debut of its franchise. “The Wolverine” debuted to $53 million in 2013.
Weekend movie clash
X-Men: Dark Phoenix was released with the Universal Pictures’s movie ‘The Secret Life of Pets 2’. The movie too does not seem to do well. But in comparison to the Dark Phoenix, it works out well.
The grossing estimated of The Secret Life of Pets 2 is $47.1 million from its ticket sales. The animated sequel’s budget was around $80 million. The movie features the voice of Kevin Hart and Harrison Ford.
The film global total has surpassed the budget mark as it has earned $97 million, establishing a real win for the studio.
“Godzilla: King of the Monsters” has earned $14.7 million this weekend, a sharp descent for Warner Bros’ s movie opened to no. 1 last weekend with $47.7 million.
Disney’s “Aladdin” is going smoothly with $24 million.
It is suspected by the upcoming release of Disney’s “Toy Story 4″ can slow up the earning speed of Dark Phoenix.”
'X-Men: #DarkPhoenix" is projected to lose over $100 million.
