David Harbour who plays Jim Hopper himself has teased that his character might be alive in Stranger Things season 4. The third season ended on the cliffhanger of Hopper sacrificing his life to save everyone but he was never shown dead on the screen and whether he survived or not was left open.

Harbour said, “We don’t have an open-ended thing like The Walking Dead. We have a specific story that we’re going to tell.” Many of the fan theories say Hopper has a lot of story remaining to tell and he will be shown alive in Stranger Things season 4.

One of those theories says the character called ‘The American’ who is in possession of the Russian could be Jim Hopper. Eleven and Hopper have a strong connection and she will bring back his father-figure in the fourth season of Stranger Things.

Stranger Things season 4 was planned as the final season by the Duffer brothers who are the main creators of the show. However, Netflix won’t let their highest viewed show end so early and executive producer Shawn Levy has hinted that they are under pressure to deliver more seasons. Levy said Stranger Things season 5 is totally possible as there is so much more story left to tell, but after that it looks unlikely.
