Jensen Ackles directed CW drama Supernatural will see its fifteenth and final season sooner than we expected. Ackles posted a picture on Instagram to convey to his audiences that preps are already underway.
Although shooting of the drama is still to be initiated, the pre production is already in progress. Ackles is back in Vancouver, Canada sooner than expected.
He will start directing his first episode of season 15 which will be his sixth overall. The episode will run as the fourth episode in last season.
Jensen announced final season in March
The 41-year old actor cum director announced the season to be the final one for Supernatural back in May. Costar Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins also joined the announcement.
“We just told the crew that though we’re very, very excited about moving into our 15th season, it will be our last,” Ackles said. “We wanted you to hear from us that though we’re excited about net year, it will be the finale, the big grand finale of an institution.”
Ackles has now started started location scouting and other pre-production works. It won’t be long before he starts with the shooting. Ackles Instagram caption read “let the games begin”.
A difficult decision to end the long running hit
Jensen Ackles has a lot of emotions flowing inside going into shooting of its last season. He has had a valuable camaraderie along with looting the loves of thousands of fans watching the show. To end such a successful long running drama won’t be an easy task as he once said earlier this year.

Supernatural was first broadcast on American television in 2005. The show’s cast featuring Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester and Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester has remained the same since. The two act as brothers going out to hunt demons, ghosts and other supernatural powers.
Warner Bros television produce the show along with Wonderland Sound and Television. The show is popular since its advent and along its 307 episodes so far. It’s rated as one of the best supernatural dramas ever broad-casted on American television.
