According to sources, U.S. electric car Manufacturer Tesla is planning to launch an affordable electric car model. Earlier this month, Elon Musk hinted when he told investors that Tesla’s car are not affordable for everyone.

Recently, Volkswagen launched the ID3 in Europe,  which is much cheaper than Tesls’s car model available in the market. There are possibilities that Tesla might introduce its own Model 3 Hatchback to compete with Volkswagen’s ID3.

A website recently claimed that Tesla might have a solution for Volkswagen’s ID3. It also said the production of the vehicle might be started in the factories. There are rumors that Tesla is planning to set a factory in Germany and would serve for manufacturing small and affordable hatchback.

Car experts believe that Tesla Model 3 will be based on Elon Musk’s recent statements. The CEO is aware that the consumers want more affordable electric cars.

During the recent board meeting, Elon Musk said that the company would not able to compete in the market, if it is not able to find a way to make their vehicle more pocket friendly.

He noted,

The thing that bugs me the most about where we are right now is that our cars aren’t affordable enough. We need to fix that.

Elon also added that it would be a higher capacity model of some sort.

As per car experts, the new model can be a adapted version of Tesla Model 3. The said model is manufactured to compete in the markets of Europe. The major challenge for the model will be competing against models like VW ID3 and other models like Citroen and Peugeot.

But this is not the first time the industry heard such claims. Tesla has not commented on these claims that is working on an affordable model i.e. Tesla Model 3 Hatchback.
