Thanksgiving Day is celebrated on the last Thursday of every November and this year it falls on November 28. The tradition was started in 1621 and in the year 1863, President Abraham Lincoln declared it as a federal holiday. It is why most of the shops, stores, banks, mails, etc. will stay closed on Thanksgiving Day 2019. Here is the list of stores to stay open or close on 2019 Thanksgiving to ease up your trouble.

List of Stores Open and Closed on Holiday
Banks: All the banks including the Federal Reserve will stay closed on Thanksgiving Day 2019.
Mail services: The U.S. Postal Service will stay closed and there will be bo UPS pickup or delivery services, but the UPS Express Critical service will be available. For FedEx, only the services for FedEx Custom Critical will stay open and everything else will stay closed.
Schools: All the Schools in the US will stay closed on Thanksgiving Day holiday.
Libraries: Public libraries will be stay closed and the commercial libraries can stay open depending on the owner.
Stock markets: The U.S. financial markets will stay closed on Thursday and New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will stay closed for trading on Friday. U.S. bond markets will only open for half-day and will close at 2 pm.
Federal Offices, National Parks and Courts will remain closed on Thanksgiving day.
Retail Stores: Most of the retailers will keep their brick and mortar store closed for Thursday and offer deals on Friday. There are some of the stores which can open on Thursday evening and offer some great deals.
Grocery Store: Most of the grocery stores will remain open with a little change in their daily schedule.
Garbage Collectors: Most of the collection services will stay close for both the holidays and resume service after Black Friday, one must store the garbage in a proper way so that it doesn’t stink or create a ruckus.
