The highest Powerball jackpot for the millennium has been sold on Saturday night.
The search for the winner has finally ended
The winner of Powerball jackpot will be rewarded a whopping sum of $344.6 million on the jackpot. According to the Powerball website, the bidding ticket was sold in North California. Maybe, the winner’s someone from your locality, a high school mate or an office colleague.
Keep a close check at your neighbors, California residents.
The Powerball authorities have declared the numbers on the balls. They were white balls with numbers, 6, 15, 34, 45, 52, plus Powerball 8 along with multiplier 2X.
The winner will have a choice to either go with the payment of lump-sum, $222.3 million in-hand. Or to be patient enough for coming 29 years while having 30 gradual payments, totalling $344.6 million.
The amounts are calculated without prior inclusion of taxes. The Powerball website has also issued a humorous statement by comparing total bills of $344.6 millions in $100 form of bills with 1603-foot Parisian Eiffel Tower.
The store that sold the ticket would be eligible for a winning sum of $50,000. It was reportedly sold at a Carlie C’s IGA store in Hope Mills, in South of Fayetteville.
Powerball jackpot: Where’s the lucky guy?
However, the luckier man will only be having 180 days to claim the prize. Also, you won’t have to care much about being popular in North California. It really doesn’t allow the rewardees to remain secluded and anonymous.
Winning such an exciting amount is a petty life-changing event for a middle-class common guy. The company officials have advised the winner to have his signature on the ticket so as to establish a firm ownership on the ticket.
This is not the first time, a guy/gal from California has been so lucky. It’s been four times before, that the winner has come from Northern part of California. Even the last ticket prize was won by a North Carolina mother. She won a lump sum of $1.3 million from a lottery cash ticket last month.
Now, I am really planning to shift in North California permanently.
