The Sims 5 is one of the most awaited real-life based stimulation game and there are no updates on its release date. We are about to enter the last month of 2019 and there is no information of TS5 launch date. It has lead to fans of The Sims series games hope for an announcement in 2020 about the fifth title of the game. While ‘The Sims 5’ may get a release update in the next year or it is delayed again due to the expansion packs of The Sims 4 will be a thing to see in the near future.
The Sims 5 Release Date: Announcement in 2020 Possible?
The Sims 5 release date is not an easy thing to determine as the game models have been changing throughout the years and nothing remains fixed over time. However, looking at the release dates of previous Sims games in the series, one can have a rough estimate about the schedule for The Sims 5. EA and Maxis are totally silent on ‘The Sims 5’ and even have not revealed whether work has started on the title or not.
How cool would it be if when @TheSims 5 comes out it was either online multiplayer or like you could start your own servers like in Minecraft

I reaaalllly hope that if there's a Sims 5, it'll be a total combination of Sims 2 and 3 adventures w/ Sims 4 graphics. 🥺🤞 @TheSims

But based on the time period after the launch of the last game, it won’t take much time for the future title to come out. It has always been a gap of four to five years between the release dates of “The Sims” (2000), “The Sims 2” (2004), “The Sims 3” (2009), and “The Sims 4” (2014.) and it has been now more than 5 years, indicating that “The Sims 5” is very closer. It is why fans were expecting an announcement in 2019 E3, but nothing of that sort happened and now there will be waiting period for another few months.
The Sims 5 Release Date: TS4 Expansion is Delaying the Launch
One of the main reasons why we have not heard any official update on ‘The Sims 5’ is because EA is planning to bring out more updates for TS4. It is just business after all and before coming out with a new product, the makers will try to milk the current one as much as possible. EA in their earnings call for Q1 of the fiscal year 2020 said that it will be the “biggest year” in terms of new content for “TS4.”
It was evident as they released two expansion packs titled “Island Living” in June and “Discover University” in November. As per the reports, a farming-theme based expansion pack will be released in April 2020 which would close the FY2020. It means there can be a further delay in the release date of ‘The Sims 5’ and the fans have to wait for more time.
