The USA recalls beef which has in return impacted the Memorial Day food. Good sunshine, little picnic baskets, huge BBQ equipment, juicy meat, and family sounds like a perfect Memorial Day set up to me.
Memorial Day is synonymous to juicy barbequed meat. Imagine a drizzle of lemon juice and some pepper on the grilled meat which has come just hot from the machine. I am already drooling.
Now, we don’t have cows in our homes. We cannot really cut a cow and then enjoy the meat. So, we go to the stores, to find meat. When we go to the stores, we see that the shops have no meat for that matter. Why is it so? Because The USA has recalled meat supplies due to some food safety issues.
Memorial Day: The Recall
In 2018, the USDA had recalled over 20 million poultry products when they had detected a virus. In 2019 too, the USDA is recalling over 62,000 pounds of meat.
It calls for over 40 cuts on various types of beef, including the ribeye, ribs, and brisket. Our sources tell that the meat could be contaminated of E. coli a virus which can be fatal.
The USDA’s decision
This was found by the USDA when they were checking the samples. While checking they came across the virus and hence, recalled all the products. The virus hasn’t sickened anybody yet, but precaution is better than cure.
This news has created a beef amongst the citizens who love meat, and vegans cannot contain their happiness!
