The Winds of Winter release date is something every Game of Thrones fan wants to know after the disastrous season finale. Even the amid readers of ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series have been waiting for years for George RR Martin to come up with the next book. The last book was released in 2011 and it has been more than eight years for TWOW to come out.

The author George RR Martin has always been cryptic about the next book but he has said that he will finish the book in the “relatively near future.” It means that ‘The Winds of Winter’ book could come out very soon as fan expectations have also increased.
George RR Martin has Finished The Winds of Winter?
George RR Martin in a recent interview with the Chicago Humanities Festival talked about ‘The Winds of Winter’ book. The 71-year-old author said that he had nearly completed the book and it will be out very soon. Martin said that he is now writing the ending of the book and it means we could have a release date for TWOW very soon.
When I actually finish a book you know the rush that comes through me. It was easier for me to write short stories then because I would be getting that rush every few weeks. But now I get that rush very rarely, it has been eight years or something, but the rush is great and I hoping to have it soon when I finish Winds of Winter.”
Public Opinion on ‘The Winds of Winter’ Release Date
Fans of the book series are still not confident as they say George RR Martin has been saying the same thing since the last few years and he has nearly finished The Winds of Winter for a long time. Also, George has accepted the new role of executive producer for the new Game of Thrones prequel called the “House of the Dragon.” It won’t be easy for him to work on other projects and release The Winds of Winter at the same time.
