The Witcher Season 2 is coming out this year but the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic might delay the Netflix fantasy series. Fans are eagerly waiting for the second season of The Witcher after the first season with Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia was a huge success last year, breaking all king of records. The Witcher TV series was so popular that it even increased the sale for The Witcher 3 game and made CD Projekt Red work on “The Witcher 4” game too.

It is why Netflix renewed the show and filming for the second season was already started. However, the coronavirus outbreak has halted the filming for The Witcher Season 2 and even some of the cast members were infected with the virus. However, it was reported that Kristofer Hivju whom fans also know as Tormund Giantsbane from Game of Thrones was tested positive for Coronavirus.

It is why Netflix has to suspend the filming for The Witcher Season 2 immediately and production everywhere was halted. The COVID-19 pandemic grew worse over the entire world and Netflix halted filming for all their major shows and movies. It is expected that filming for The Witcher Season 2 will resume around July-August when the coronavirus outbreak is contained and it is safe to gather around.
