The Witcher 2 will do away with all the confusion as the characters will now exist in one timeline. The revelation was made by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the Netflix fantasy series’ showrunner which stars Henry Cavill.
The Witcher 2: Showrunner’s comments
Hissrich stated that different timelines in season 1 caused a lot of confusion among the viewers. She, however, iterated the importance of multiple timelines for the narrative.
Going by Hissrich’s comments, The Witcher season 2 will intersect all characters and bring them under a single timeline.
With all of story’s fundamentals set in place in season 1, Hissrich highlighted that it has become possible to integrate time in multiple ways in upcoming installments by way of flashbacks and flash-forwards.

While The Witcher season 2 will bring all the original characters back, Hissrich has teased two new Witchers. One of them goes by Vesemir, the mentor of Geralt. Kim Bodnia of Killing Eve will play the role of Vesemir.
The Witcher 2: Release Date
Production was already in progress until March when filming had to be put on halt, with a scheduled airdate of 2021. After WHO declared the COVID-19 a global pandemic, industries across the globe were made to stop operating. Film and TV productions were also affected as a result of lockdowns imposed by many countries.

Hissrich, however, assured that they will resume filming soon. They are currently formulating a plan for resuming the filming at earliest.
The showrunner added that casts’ health, security and comfort are their top priorities. They are working out the options for their accommodation as well.
The plan will be formulated in accordance with the guidelines and restrictions issued by the government to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
