The Witcher Season 2 will resume filming very soon which was earlier halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, things won’t be the same as there are so many restrictions and also the concern about the safety of cast and crew. There are reports that intimate scenes and large gatherings will not be allowed over the fear of coronavirus and it could also affect the second season of The Witcher on Netflix.
Lauren Hissrich, the creator and producer of Witcher series has revealed that things are moving as per the schedule and filming will resume soon. Here are more details on “The Witcher” season 2 release date, filming details and how the story might not have big battles due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Witcher Season 2 Filming and COVID-19 Restrictions
The Witcher Season 2 filming will only start after all the safety protocols are followed and all the guidelines are closely observed. Hissrich has said that there have been several production meetings where they have discussed how to keep everyone safe during the pandemic. The personal safety and comfort of all the people working on The Witcher season 2 is the topmost priority of everyone. It is expecting that The Witcher Part 2 will resume filming from August 3 assuming things are all right.

Netflix, filming commission and the government has advised several guidelines which will be followed closely. The Witcher Season 2 story will also be impacted due to the restrictions but that is not the biggest concern. There will be some limitations and maybe battle scenes with too many people, crowded events, sex scenes, etc. might no longer be a part of “The Witcher” season 2 until the coronavirus pandemic is not fully cleared out.
The Witcher Season 2 Release Date and Returning Cast
The Witcher Season 2 release date has been pushed back to 2021 and it will also be announced soon. There are very less chances that the second season of Witcher can come out this year after the filming resumes in August as there will also be a lot of post-production work.
The Witcher season 2 cast will mark the return of Geralt of Rivia portrayed by Henry Cavill, along with Freya Allan’s Ciri and Anya Chalotra’s Yennefer. There are also a lot of new actors who have joined the cast and most of the actors from the first season will also return in The Witcher part 2.
