Sony Pictures Animation has announced the much-awaited sequel to the ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ movie which won the Academy Award for a best-animated feature in 2019 Oscars. The movie was praised for its soundtrack, storyline and visual effects which looked like a comic book came to life. The recent deal between Sony and Marvel over Tom Holland’s Spider-Man has given them more control and they are planning to integrate the same into Spider-Verse sequel.

There are rumors that Tom Holland might star in the ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ sequel as a supporting actor alongside Shameik Moore’s Miles Morales. It also goes with the fact that Tom’s cameo in the first movie was cut and now given his popularity after Avengers movies, they would surely use him in their next Spider-Man animated movie.

Tom Holland in a recent interview revealed that he recorded lines for the animated Spider-Man movie ‘Into the Spider-Verse’. It was a simple scene when Miles is traveling through a train station and Tom Holland’s character walks in the background and says, ‘Hey Kid!’ which was mainly supposed to be more of an Easter Egg.

But for reasons unknown, the cameo was canceled in the final cut of the movie. It could be edited to avoid confusion as fans might interpret that the MCU’s Spider-man also exists in the same universe and there would also be character-rights related issues.
