Tyson Fury vs Otto Wallin : Underdog Wallin warns Fury

Tyson Fury vs Otto Wallin is now confirmed to take place in Las Vegas on September 14. And to put more fuel to the fire, the war of words has already begun.

Opponent of Tyson Fury, the 28-year old Wallin warned Fury that “he has everything to lose” ahead of the big fight. The news first broke out on 2 August and now the date of Tyson Fury vs Otto Wallin is confirmed.

Tyson Fury vs Otto Wallin: Wallin sends out warning bells for Tyson Fury

Otto Wallin has launched a verbal attack on Tyson Fury. He has dissed Fury warning the veteran champ of how his underdog status can work in his favor. Tyson Fury is rated one among the top 3 boxers in the world today alongside Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua.

“I know I’m an underdog in this fight, but I’m ready for this opportunity and I’m going to grab it with both hands,” said Wallin, 28.

“Anybody can get beat and especially in the heavyweight division. I like the fact that I have everything to gain and Tyson has everything to lose.”

Anthony Joshua recently lost a similar fight to big underdog Andy Ruiz Jr. quite convincingly. So Tyson Fury would be wary of any complacency creeping in. Joshua is now scheduled to fight a rematch with the Mexican later this year.

WBC Heavyweight Match: Fury vs Wilder in the big picture

Otto Wallin, 6ft 5in is a southpaw who has 20 wins under his belt along with one no contest. He is currently ranked 4th on the WBO rankings and 11th on IBF. But fighting the unbeaten Tyson Fury is a different challenge altogether. He hasn’t fought a fighter of his caliber.

While Fury knows it, he chose to stay focused on the task at the hind. But even then, Tyson Fury didn’t hold back calling this match as good preparation for Wilder-Fury rematch.

“Otto Wallin is a world-ranked fighter and is tall, something we want with the Deontay Wilder rematch around the corner,” said Fury.

“He is also a southpaw, which will bring its own obstacles, but I will be fully focused to get this job done because the rematch needs to happen.”

Wilder will next fight Cuba’s Luis Ortiz by the end of this year. If he manages to overcome Ortiz again and Fury wins against Wallin, they will play their rematch in February.

They drew their last match which was the first in Fury’s unbeaten record. But Fury wants Tyson Fury vs Otto Wallin match by December and his agent Bob Arum can’t wait for the iconic rematch.

“After the Ortiz fight, Wilder isn’t going to be ready to fight again in February,” Fury told BT Sport. “So after I beat Wallin, I am going to fight again in December back in England.”
