But this test was done near a 5G tower with a clear line of sight.

Verizon 5G Network: A Fact or Just a Myth?

To test the availability of the 5G network two reporters from two news organisations travelled to areas where Verizon says that the Network is working.

Unfortunately, the results were disappointing.

According, to a CNET reporter

Sometimes the speed test would give 600+ Mbps of speed on the 5G network. Other times it would be around 200Mbps.

In addition to this, the Network is bounded in some fixed Geographical Limitations. Also, this Network is compatible only with Motorola Moto Z3 only when it is attached to 5G Moto mod attachment.

What Verizon say About 5G Network?

The company says the in the initial stages the Network has limited coverage. But will improve significantly as Verizon will add more cell sites and more spectrum.

The initial launch uses a spectrum around 28Ghz of the range which is far more than 700MHz which is used for 4G LTE.

Verizon says that by the end of 2019 the company will install 5G network in 30 US cities.

Verizon charges extra 10$ for one month, which might be more for the people who live in places except for Chicago and Minneapolis.

Surely, it is clear that companies like Verizon and Samsung are a few steps away from making 5G Network available to all.
