HBO’s Watchmen Season 2 won’t come soon as there is no official confirmation for greenlighting the second season. But the executive producer Nicole Kassell has hinted that there is a story which would span across multiple seasons and a sequel was always planned. Given the high-level production and HBO shows budget and creative requirements, Watchmen season 2 can have a release date of late 2020 or even mid-2021.

Watchmen creators have said that the first season will have a beginning, middle and an end. It means that the Watchmen season 2 will carry forward a new story instead of continuing the same arc. The first season of Watchmen ending on a cliffhanger can also change the story for the sequel.

There are so many events in the Watchmen comics and since the TV show has taken a time jump and the events are happening in real time with flashbacks, the makers are free to adapt any of the events.
