Morris is confident of the deal but doesn’t want to go too ahead of himself. He thinks the deal is not done until it’s done and its important to remain focused.

Thus, Rooney’s stint at United States would last just an year. Wayne Rooney moved to DC United in June 2018 from his home club Everton. The 33-year old previously moved to Everton from Manchester United a decade ago.

That was probably the time of his career. Rooney is also setting fire in MLS right now with 23 goals from 22 starts. The England forward has also struck 11 assists further highlighting his utility.

Morris thus seems highly impressed by what Rooney still has to offer. With the looks of it, Rooney’s return to English football might become a reality very soon. With Harry Maguire now with United things look good indeed for English fans.
