The Winds of Winter release date has been delayed once again as George RR Martin has broken another deadline. The 71-year-old author had enough time to complete the sixth book in “A Song of Ice and Fire” series, but he broke fan expectations once again.

There are new reports making an estimate on Winds of Winter chapters that predict that the book will be out in 2022 or later. It could be possible given the pace at which George RR Martin writes and the length of TWOW book.
When will George RR Martin complete The Winds of Winter?
George RR Martin has almost completed 39 chapters of The Winds of Winter book and it will take a few years to finish the whole thing. While compared to the previous novels in the ASOIAF series, Winds of Winter will be a big book and Martin has only finished half or two-thirds.

Fans who are hoping that Winds of Winter will be out in 2021, should keep their hopes low as it won’t happen. George has already broken deadlines multiple times before and it won’t be a surprise if he does it again. The Winds of Winter will not be finished by GRRM until late 2021 or 2022, as there are around 30 or more chapters left.
The Winds of Winter Release Date Speculations
The Winds of Winter release date could be set in early 2022 as per some theories based on Martin’s writing speed. The fantasy writer have also plans to write a short Dunk and Egg novel to cleanse the palate before he starts writing “A Dream of Spring” which is the final book in the Game of Thrones series. Fans who are dreaming to read “The Winds of Winter” should wait for 2022 or more.
